We just moved into a new place and the internet man FINALLY came (those four days in the stone ages felt like a century). But I am back, and our new place has a wood burning fireplace with a mantle, and I am ready to spruce it up. Our place is from the 70′s so everything is a brownish/yellow colour right now, but the good thing about that era…WOOD. The mantle is a thick. raw wood, with a wood panelling above. Here are some “dressing up your fireplace” ideas I found.

Some really good friends of ours just gave us an amazing King Mattress, yay, for friends! We really needed a new mattress, and now we have an upgrade! Anyway, I have been really inspired to get a new blanket with some exotic pattern. I am thinking about trying to make it myself, but I did find these ones at Urban, anyone else on this patterned blanket train?

I am obsessed with everything about this house, I would want mine to look exactly like this. It is hard for me to put my style into words sometimes, but these pictures are perfect! This is the Carnation Street house by Commune. I want to live here (did I say that already?)!!!

For me, this saying is also true with movement because I am a dancer. I catch myself moving all dramatically when I can’t seem to express what I am trying to say properly. I will just say, “It feels like this,” and then make some kind of crazy movement and the person will stare at me like, “uh huh.”

It’s time to organize, my small space is getting more and more cluttered. I have been checking out small storage options and cool small spaces on dwell and apartment therapy, but they just seem to be so neat and tidy it just doesn’t feel like real life. What about all those papers you get in the mail all week that you just don’t have time to deal with at that very second, or you just don’t know what to do with them yet…where do you guys put those things, because those papers end up lying around on my kitchen table or stack up on an assortment of surfaces throughout the house, and I haven’t figured out any solution yet. What are your guy’s methods?
